I have no sympathy.

He's a wife beater, and he then assaults officers.

He's too stupid to be allowed outside a prison.
 
fortunately, not many people will show sympathy for garbage like him.

he is a waste of tax payers dollars however.
we should ship him off down under.
 
I say this probably falls under the category of cruel and unusual punishment. Now if it'd been a 5 year sentance I could jive with it considering his history. Hell, 10 years. Spitting is pretty gross.

I do also think the law should be on the books. If some HIV+ transexual prostitute gets in a scuffle with a cop, bloodies her mouth and then spits in his eye that's just as bad as killing him right then and there if he gets AIDS. It should count as murder or attempted murder.
 
Bah, this is total crap. More tax money being spent on someone who shouldn't be locked up for life. Yes, he's scum, yes it's stupid to spit on an officer and yes, wife beating is horrible. But putting him in prison for life is a waste of time clogging up appeals courts and wasting tax dollars.

Our legal system is arguably the best in the world, and yet so fvcked up.

The time spent sitting him in an appeals court arguing whether he needs to serve for life for spitting on an officer is time that coule be better spent on more important, higher priority matters than some law that makes absolutely no sense.

basically he told the judge and jury ...fvcky you...

Reminds me of a guy showing a cop a middle finger, so he arrested him and he was sentenced for 1 year. Eventually Supreme Court rules it was protect by free speech
 
I was expecting this to be in Singapore where punishment is quite harsh. I definitely didn't expect it to be Oklahoma City.

This is pretty much a waste of taxpayer money, I'd feel...but whatever - we waste money in government all the time, it's going to happen no matter what.

Sorry, but I think wife-beaters, rapists and child abusers are some of the lowest scum on the face of the earth! Fsck em. A guy like that deserves a lifetime of bubba using his a$$ for a playground:|:|

Edit: Arguably the scentence is too harsh for a one time offense. However comma.... if this behavior is a regular way of life for this guy then he should go down for a VERY long time!
