Say I have 3 explorer windows open with files in each.

How do I select, say, 1 file from each window, and then delete them? I know I could do it one at a time, but what about something that works just like holding ctrl and grabbing what you want in ONE window?

So you want to select 1 file in each window and then hit delete once? I don't think that is possible because the delete command would only be sent to the active window. Otherwise I am misunderstanding you.

Nope, you understand perfectly. That's exactly what I want. I think you should be able to hold shift+ctrl while selecting stuff from different windows and have it link them in such a way that you only need to hit delete once (Or you could hit copy/cut once and paste them all into another place). Basically it would just be nice to be able to modify files/folders that are located in more than one place at a time. Oh, well, I didn't think there was a way.

Yea it would be kinda cool but also a pretty dangerous feature because usually in explorer every window has at least something selected. So if you hit the key and fergot you had a 4th window open, you could end up deleting something very important in the 4th window as well. None the less interesting idea 😉
