I just searched the OT forums by browsing and using that nifty search feature and didn't find any news on this... yet. In any case, G. Anderson is officially retiring Dana Scully -- after next season, she's gone :(

Bye Scully

It'd be nice, though, if Chris Carter were to script the very last episode of next season to have Scully and Mulder wed ;) But then again, it's the X-Files not General Hospital. :D

I hope they marry and make that kid of theirs less illegitimate. ;)

I didn't even know that show was still on television. I turn off the TV immediately after Malcolm in the Middle.

Well I think after the hold out by D.ducovan(SP?) FOX, that's when people figured it was almost over and quit watching.

Its just like Battlestar 80 -- if you try to replace tried and true characters with others like Dogger or Doogie or whatever his name is...you end up with second rate crap. They should have ended it when Mulder wanted to leave.

But I hope they make another movie I enjoyed the first one... :D

I like the X-Files and enjoy watching it on TV, but with her leaving, the show will soon "end". Fox Moulder isn't appearing any episode next season and when Scully leaves, its all over. Every TV show that replaces one of their major stars falls within a few seasons (some much sooner). With the second star going away, the show will soon do the same.

Long live the movie X-Files, we'll be seeing more of them soon I'm sure.

I think the xfiles just appeals to a different audence now. I couldn't stand to watch it with mulder, but this last season I watched it alot. Doggett was just way cooler to have in there than that sissy, porn watchin, always coming up with crazy theories mulder :D Scully still keeps the sci-fi there and dogget adds cool :) Anyway I"m not surprised, wanna bet this is the last season?

I agree... Towards the end, though funny, Mulder got really cocky (both in character and in real life [Duchovny]) But I did prefer the past few seasons over the early ones.

The last few seasons with Mulder I though were the best. I don't like it as much with out him, but it's still a show I watch every week.

The show might be able to survive with one of it's founding stars gone, but when you really only have two to begin with, and they both leave, it's a gonner.
I think I saw an add for a new show on Fox that is like X-files, and I bet ther're hoping that show takes over while X-files peeters out.
