All the build-up and rhetoric and arguments surrounding your bike purchase making it out to be a huge deal, but from a different perspective it's really just a vehicle to have fun with, and no one but you should really care what it is.

Perhaps I was thinking a little too abstractly...

Sounds like most posts in ATG. Just not necessarily bikes.

not really trolling, he was just saying that it doesn't matter what everyone else argues about, if he likes the bike then he should get it (which he did)

Not trolling, just a video that I thought was funny on the surface, and so very appropriate upon reflection.

Edit: Apologies if I got a little too cerebral for ATG.

The video itself is really cool, it's your seemingly negative comment about Jules repeatedly posting about his bike that irks me. Same with Alky, and the others who post about what they might buy.. It should be normal and fine to post a thread about what you're wanting or going to get.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to be a negative comment towards Jules, I've got nothing against him, his bike, or his posts about it (I like reading them, actually).

Edit: After a second read-through my post and I can see how it could be interpreted that way, but that is not what I intended. I apologize for that. I was referring to all of the comments such as "it's a literbike!" and "but you said your SV650 was the best bike ever! you hypocrite!" and other such nonsense.

I understood what you were trying to say, and I also can understand how it could be taken negatively. But heck, your guilty of the same thing that Jules does with his bike! This could have easily been a video of a guy and a Miata, and thread could just have easily been about you! Or me for that matter. heck, it could be about anybody who posts build threads in ATG. We all think about our ride in a very tunnel visioned sort of way --- it almost like when you buy new shoes and walk around the mall thinking "ya, everybody is looking at my shoes, ya, they are awesome." but in reality, nobody cares as much as you do.
