Saw the most appalling church sign today...

This church is located in my town (Tyler, TX) which is packed with Katrina refugees. Not to mention it's located right off a major road for all to see. I was told the sign has been up even before the looting and other chaos was taking place.

EDIT: Additional images for all those saying this is Photochopped:

And lastly, the story the local news did on it.

Ouch. I suppose some are entitled to their opinions, but probably best if they kept that one to themselves.

Photoshop? Every single "H" is extremely faded and each "I" looks like it has the same pattern of wear as well.

Definitely not. I can take another picture of it. I believe that's just caused by the way the sun is hitting the lettering.

For anyone near the area, the church is right off Old Jacksonville Highway (inside the loop) in Tyler.

Ok, I believe you. It just reminded me of that "create you own Church sign" website posted a while back, is all.

Everyone's entitled to their views, however obscene they may be. I don't see any laws being broken here.

agreed. everyone else has their opinions on the situation and people of NO, why cant they?

insensitive, yes IMO. but no worse than a million other things surrounding this tragedy.

From what I've heard there is some truth to that sign. Still, they got balls to be showing that ATM.

the religious right makes legitmate groups look idiotic and render them inefective as far as religion and relief are concerned

Self-righteous bastards. Maybe it makes them feel better about themselves when they go home and beat the kids.

Quoted for hypocrisy.

So you agree with the twisted people who created the sign? Created a scam website yet to siphon donation money?

I absolutely deplore the sentiments expressed on that sign. But I also deplore your self-righteous assumption that these people beat their kids.
