I work in Baltimore, MD (downtown). On my way to work, I drive past a few traffic lights. There is a large homeless population in Baltimore. At most of these lights, there are homeless people who panhandle. They almost "claim" certain traffic lights as if it's their territory. I see the same homeless people at the same lights every morning.
This morning, I pull up to one of the lights, and I see a Baltimore police officer in full uniform holding a cardboard sign. The sign read "Have a great day". I almost rolled down my window and asked him what this was all about.
It was a refreshing surprise to see the police presence in areas you typically wouldn't see them.
