I was driving with my friend back to my house to pick up my car to go somewhere, and on the way we saw a speed trap. After I got my car and I was following my friend we drove past the speed trap again, but the second time I saw a trash truck that was pulled over as it was getting trash. The mechanical arm was even extended around a barrel of trash. I saw the driver hustling to get paperwork. Since the truck was sticking out in the road one cop was directing traffic while another was issuing a citation.

#1: the trash pickup is run by the city, so would the city pay the fine to itself?

#2: how in the hell could a trash truck get pulled over for speeding??

I'd guess they were probably not writing a speeding ticket, but something may have been in violation/broken on the truck. The city will pay to get it fixed and it will probably be dropped.

by going over the posted speed limit.

Hey, you should see those fvckers fly down my street - it's a dead end (a long one) and when they're done at the end they come flying back down....the cops have stopped them before - a truck that size/weight going that fast through a residential area is a BAD IDEA

A couple months ago I was on the airport parking shuttle and the bus got pulled over by the airport police for rolling through a stop sign! Wrote him a ticket to go with a lecture. Took about 10 minutes with a bus full of people wanting to get to the terminal.

One time about a year ago I was driving home down a semi-rural road (each lot would have been approximately 1-2 acres in size) and garbage truck who had presumably just finished his run on this road was weaving back and forth behind me knocking down every single garbage can on the road on both sides of the road! He was pretty good too! He only missed a couple on a 3 miles stretch. He would get within about 6" as he swerved and the wind would knock them over... although he did actually hit a few. Occasionally when I drive down that road on garbage pickup day all of the cans are knocked over.

I know a guy who used to drive a garbage truck. He lost his job because he left the arms up in the air when he drove off and it got caught in some power lines and tore them down.
