I'm not a big fan of showtunes and things of that nature. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was and the sets were sweet! :cookie: for the cast!

My fav.

Saw it multiple times. Best was with Michael Crawford as the Phantom (I think). He was just incredible. His voice was inhuman. People tossed roses at him at the end. If I had any, I would have too. He was that good.

Yes the broadway show was awesome, but I'm waiting for the movie adaptation to come out this Christmas.

Guess who's directing it? Joel "Batman and Robin" Schumacher - yippee.

yeah I saw it once when they came into town many years ago, and would love to see it again... Everyone on the cast just had awesome voices, it was an incredible experience...

yeah i will have to agree...the only thing was that people were not seated after the intermission....which i thought was really rude to the performers

I can't wait until I live in a city with a good musical scene (mmm...NYC). I saw the Phantom in Toronto 3 or 4 times...latest musical was Wonderful Town on broadway. good sh*t.

I saw Phantom years and years ago when I was 11 as a school field trip. Was thoroughly impressed despite the standard 11 year old aversion to anything related to the opera.

just watched it for a second time last night.
anyone have any ideas where i could find a full plot summary of it? like the details that may have also been in the book but weren't in the show?

I saw it when I was 14, so nine years ago. I'd love to see it again at the Phantasia Theater in Toronto. At the Playhouse Square Theater in Cleveland it was good, but just not setup properly for it.

You mean the Pantages Theater ^_^

And zimu...I'd recommend just reading the book as it's relatively a short read and is quite a departure from the on-stage depiction. For instance, a lot more goes one between the Phantom, Christine and Raoul than what you saw in the show. Some very cool stuff 🙂

I saw it a few weeks ago in NYC. While I thought it was ok, I personally felt it showed it's age compared to some other Broadway plays I've seen recently. The set didn't do anything for me, and while the voices themself were amazing, I'm just not a huge opera fan.

Saw it at the Pantages in Toronto 5 years ago, loved it, would love to see it again if I can find some tickets to the one in Baltimore for a reasonable price!

Just the cast?

<---Plays in pit orchestras 😉

Not a topic that you'd expect in these parts, but what the heck.

Check out 'thoroughly modern millie' if theatre tickles your fancy. FANTASTIC.
