Saw one of the worst wrecks I have ever seen today...

I was taking a pizza delivery to a customer, and this explorer and dodge intredpid were a few hundred yards in front of me - it was about 9pm and we were going 65mph. Next thing I know, the explorer starts drifting off of the road, running into the edge of a ditch, then flipping rear over front (as opposed to a roll over) 3 times, and lands on it's roof. :Q

The people in the intrepid got to the vehicle first, then I got to the scene a few seconds later. The engine of the car was still running, EVERY one of the windows was busted out, and their were papers covering the highway from the vehicle. A cop was a few blocks back, we could see him coming towards the accident. We approached the car, and there was just a girl in it, strapped to her seat w/ her seatbelt on. The people in the intrepid were already turning the vehicle off, and had unbuckled her when I got out of my car.

She was a young girl - probably 16. After she got out of the car through the passengers window, she said that she dozed off. THe cop and paramedics determined that she had no injuries other than bruises from the seatbelt. She was crying hysterically, then she called her mother from her cell phone which was in her pocket.

The explorer looked HORRIBLE, and if she hadn't of had her seat belt on, we probably would have approached a car with her splattered remains. I'm blown away in the fact that the vehicle stayed as intact as it did, after 3 flips :Q

I was going home from work on one of those interstate access roads (the ones that run right next to the interstate) when an SUV flew off of the interstate, through the trees, and hit a truch on the access road.

Other people had already stopped and helped by the time I got there, but I stayed until the police came.

When I was 7 our '78 Mercury got hit in the driver's side by a loaded log truck doing 75. That car was meeeesed up.

She's damned lucky to be alive, and damned lucky she didn't kill anyone else!

She probably will eventually. :frown: It's unfortunate that a girl this young and stupid is driving a vehicle that is so lage and potentially dangerous (to others).

Anyone who falls asleep at the wheel is a f00l...almost as bad as a drunk driver!

If you even feel the least-bit ready to dose off, open all the windows, crank up the AC, turn up the radio, and pull into a gas station ASAP for a Coke or whatever.

DOnt drive like a nutball. I'm glad she's safe but that ^ is horrible. Irresponsible drivers.

I was in Scott's car (the guy with the E46 328i) and we were going about 60 and when we turn that corner, we see a mountain of flames. I was saying to myself please dont let it be one of the M's. when we got closer to the scene, i saw the M rim, and I saw that it was the Immola Red M3. I jetted out of the car, and started running towards the car, I hear some guy screaming for help, then when I get closer to the car, I hear three pops so I backed off. then the screaming from James ended. I knew that his life was over. there was nothing that anyone could do.
:Q

That would seriously mess me up......
