Driving back from Target I glanced up and saw bright LED lights on a car coming towards me, I beamed with glee as I knew what was coming.

Oh so sexy, I loved it. Dare I say I prefer the look of the R8 over a Lambo?

Hope its one of the neighbors, would love to see that sexy beast on a regular basis.

IMO the R8 is the sexiest car made by a major carmaker (I am excluding sports-car-only companies for purposes of this discussion) since the Ford GT (which just may be the sexiest car EVER made by a major carmaker).

I see sometimes see S5s, S8s, and R8s from time to time here in DC. They are the most gorgeous cars on the road IMO.

I've seen R8's, Ferrari's, Lambos and a Ford GT in Bridgewater, NJ believe it or not. Saw a bunch more in NY as well. I wish I had one :( How the f*** is everyone so rich?

That's because Bridgewater, NJ is one of the top 10 wealthiest places on the East coast.

I saw one on Saturday. Damn it's a sweet looking car. It definitely looks more aggressive than a Lambo.

if we all pitch in, we can pool our money together to buy one Audi R8

It'll be a timeshare. We can take turns using it each weekend.

I wasn't a fan of these right away, but it's starting to grow on me. Are the maintenance costs actually realistic so you can drive it daily? (Unlike Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc)

I've seen around 10-15 now driving around London, Norwich, and Salisbury. I still wet myself each time I see one. Absolutely love the car in person.

Absolutely true. The closest a video/picture came to conveying it's presence was the Superbowl commercial that mocked the godfather...that commercial in HD was magnificent.

I'm sure the maintenance isn't heinous compared to an exotic supercar, but I imagine it's at least at the level of a 911 (that is, significantly more than a garden-variety Merc or BMW, much less a Japanese car).

Yes...I wonder if I'll look back at them in 20 years and think how gimmicky they are...but right now I love the R8/A5/TT-S/A4 with the lights. I have to say that the A4 looks the least good with them as they seem "half-assed" (only a short strip) compared to the R8 or the S5.
