Action packed, beginning to end with a few chick-flick scenes sprinkled in. The movie of course, as with all M:I movies, takes a confusing U-turn at some point. Despite the fact I got into a pre-screening for free, I would say it is worth the ticket cost. Heck, seeing that orange Gallardo is probably worth the price of admission. Cruise is typical Cruise. Hofmann plays a convincing villain. The movie is fairly family-friendly aside from the violence.

The movie takes place in the US, Germany (Berlin), Italy (Rome), and China (Shanghai). Since I work for ze Germans I have to comment that their portrayal of Berlin was pretty weak, focusing on one beat-up warehouse. But I don't find that too surprising. The Germans don't like Cruise/Scientology too much, and I guess the feelings are mutual. The portrayal of Italy and China was much more positive!

Of out all the MI movies, where would you rank this one GTaudiophile?

Thanks for informing me. I was going to see it anyway, but since you informed me it doesn't totally suck I'll see it sooner.

2 > 3 > 1

You can't beat MI2's John Woo, Austrailian flavor, and Hans Zimmer/Lisa Gerrard soundtrack.

Awesome, sounds like it won't be anything like MI:2, definately will see it in the theater.

MI2 was a waste of popcorn.

Gosh you spoiled the movie! j/k.
Glad to hear someone's opinion on the movie before I actually see it. I would have seen it in the theatres eventually.

I enjoyed it and bought the DVD. The soundtrack alone was worth the price of admission! I believe it was Zimmer's first collaboration with Gerrard before doing Gladiator, Black Hawk Down and others.

MI2 was terrible...the slow motion close up of the character's faces got old after about 10 minutes. I really enjoyed it the first time I saw it but I couldn't finish it the second time I watched it.

I still think the first one was the best.
In later installments agent Hunt looks like some kind of a freaking superman.

the other ones have a lot more action value.. but that's not the best part of the MI franchise :(

i don't care much about repeatability. it was pretty kewl in the theater. i don't feel like watching 1 or 2 ever again, but i'm that way with most every movie. the action was good on the big screen, no idea how it is on video.

M:I 1 was no M:I movie! Evil Phelps? Say it ain't so! :(

M:I 2 was no M:I movie! good action flick but where was the team? :frown:

M:I 3 - here's hoping Abrams pulls it off (loved early Alias, and still diggin' Lost)

I never saw the 1st one, so I got the DVD which includes a ticket to see 3. For less than $14 at Walmart, I thought it was a good deal.

There is more team work in MI3 I would say.
