Saw Constantine yesterday...

And since I have never read any Hellblazer, and had no preconceived notions, I thought it was a pretty great flick!

Some questions, though...

What's up with the tattoos on his forearms? And what was he trying to accomplish when he tried to use them magically or whatever?

They're the same symbol as the necklace.

He used them and some words to make the angels/demons nearby show themselves... i.e. Gabrielle.

Besides, it really isn't a spolier when the tattoos are shown in the trailer and on the movie poster, is it? Thought not...

then what the hell is up with this part of your post:

"And what was he trying to accomplish when he tried to use them magically or whatever? "

???

one question: is it an 'intelligent' movie like Matrix or just smoke and mirrors to cover up a lame plot/story ?

There's already a Constantine thread (where I left a decently sized review), but anywho...

I saw it last weekend and it was much better than I had been prepared for after listening to the Neo-Nazis who feel that it's the popular opinion to bash Keanu Reeves. He does well in the parts that he is required to play. It was a good movie surely worth the $6.50 ticket.

i dont feel like spending $10 on this movie.

summary please? including all the interesting scenes. 🙂

or better yet, just edit the 1st post w/the summary. i dont want to search for it 😛

I thought it was pretty good, 3.5/5 IMO but of course, everyone's opinion will vary.

Plot: B+
Acting: B-
SFX: A

Overall: B

*****Spoilers Below*****

while overall it diddn't seem to remind me of the Matrix, there there were two instances where I had deja-vu. when Balthazar is looking @ the mirror, and it get's all wobbly I half expected him to "stick" his fingers in it. And when lucifer is walking arround in the end through all the shards of "frozen in time" broken glass, I was waiting for Keanu to say, "NO" and all the glass just drop to the floor.
not too bad... some of the better CG work

Graphics, pretty good. Sound, same.

I was dissapointed though. Catholic dogma doesn't really scare me anymore. Going to hell was a fun idea though. I liked how they did it too.

Movie kinda stunk near the end. It almost had me...but not quite. The best part of the movie was the old hag sitting near the very front of the theatre who started yelling "I CURSE U!!!!" repeatedly near the end of the movie. She seemed crazy or possessed.... one guy went to go get an usher but when the usher came, he didn't do anything but walk up and down the stairs. Maybe she was pissed about spending 9 bucks on this flick.
