It was a good movie. I was expecting "Gladiator" good, but it fell short of that. Still good though.

Worth a rental.

You mean it wasn't the best movie in the history of cinema, like all the commercials are making it out to be? How disappointing.

hahaha, yeah really.. and whats "Gladiator good" supposed to mean? That movie was soo cliche and overdone, couldn't hold a candle to the classics like Ben-Hur and Spartacus. A Beautiful Mind would the be the better Crowe movie to compare it to if you ask me.

i heard it was close to a chick flick, too much crying

no?

I cried, but in the Field of Dreams sort of way, not in a chick flick sort of way. It was a great movie.

I just saw this and really enjoyed it, it was nice to see a movie that doesnt make you feel like crap at the end (MIllion Dollar Baby).

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I thought it was very good. Of course they Hollywoodized it, distorted the facts, made Baer out to be a worse guy than he really was, but it was enjoyable.

The guy that played Jethro on the Beverly Hill Billiy's is his son and he was complaining about the samething.

Saw it this afternoon. I must say I can't remember a movie when I was drawn in so much. I literally felt I was there ring-side, cheering him on.

Great movie!

It looked similar to rocky with the small guy coming up big. is it at all close?

It has similarities to Rocky, but the setting (time period more than location) makes it entirely different.

This movie was great. It was like an event. I really felt for the character and wanted to do all those things that the critics said. Cheer him on. Although you always knew he was gonna succeed. It was still, and event unlike any other, an epic story about the most courageous fighter there was.

I loved it and I usually don't go see movies a second time, but I'm thinking about going to see this movie again. Great movie.

A masterpiece. The best sports movie I've ever seen.

Best movie of the year! Highly recommend it!

In the level of:

Braveheart
The Champ
Gladiator
Saving Private Ryan
and hopefully The Flags of our Fathers (currently being filmed - directed by C. Eastwood)
A must read book as well
