Saw an odd thing at the supermarket today ...

I was shopping earlier today and came across some 'interesting' items in the meat dept. I knew people bought/consumed pig's feet, cow tongue and lips. However, on the top row was pig skins - folded up like a small blanket and sealed.

WTF? Do people make sandwiches out of them? Has anyone come across this before?

Well, I was aware that they were considered food to some people. I imagine they cook them up somehow, but I'm not aware of the specifics.

BTW, the market in question was called "Top Valu". I usually do my shopping @ Vons, Albertsons, or Ralphs, but the lower end stores offer a better price on meat.

Actually I don't think they're that unhealthy compared to some other snack foods, most of the fat is renderd off when the pork rinds are cooked. 🙂

Try comparing them to potato chips. They're actually not that bad.
