Saw an older model Apple 20 inch display for $399 at Bestbuy on clearance.

Is it worth that much? Was orginially priced at $799 I believe.

Looks beautiful, but I am wondering if there are other monitors that are cheaper, but are still high quality like that one?

I have a 20" iMac so it would be a good complement to that monitor.

Thoughts?

It will be a good looking monitor that has excellent color fidelity. It will also ghost very badly, as high color fidelity comes at the cost of slow response times.

To be honest, I am not familiar with the screen. Find out if it's an IPS panel. If yes, then possibly because those are not common.

If you are looking for a decent monitor arond that size, the 22" Dell 2209WA uses an IPS panel and you can get it for around $210 with free shipping. It's arguably the best 22" at the moment.

If it is the kind that has the aluminum frame and not plastic, then it should have an IPS panel.

However, if that Dell monitor is an IPS, then you should jump on that for the price.

Apple monitors are disgustingly overpriced. They're pretty good in terms of color accuracy and overall quality, but you can always get a better deal from someone else :)
