Saw this on an infomercial. Its some device that you strap on to whatever part of your body you would like to exercise and then it some how activates the muscles there. Supposedly 10 minutes of use equals 600 situps.
The only doctor they had on the part I saw was some plastic surgeon. So I'm not truly believing there claim of "SAFE." Is there any information out there on such devices, especially on its safety?

thx,

I don't doubt the claim that it is safe. Hundreds of thousands of people have used Transcutaneous Electronic Neuro Stimulator units without harm as part of physical therapy and for pain relief.

What I doubt is that this device will have any effect whatsoever in reducing the appearance of a flabby abdomen. Devices that claim to enhance muscles' tone by zapping them with electricity have been around at least since the 1950s. They didn't work then, and I doubt that they work now. The only part of you that will be thin and trim will be your wallet.

its ems....it wont kill you but if you use it just dont burn out the muscle or you will be one sore ass mf....muscles contract by electrical stimulus provided to them by nerve inervation...this is doing the same thing only obviously using an external electrical impulse....personally i like exercise....so i dont want to get in shape from a jar or pill or lil electrical pads stuck to me...lol
