Saw a prison fight at my internship today...

I was walking down the hall with the therapist I'm working with when we heard this guard start yelling. We sort of rush down the hall (even though when stuff like that happens, I'm supposed to go into an office or something and wait for it to end) and this guard is alone in a room while two inmates are going at it.

Some big dude was wailing on this little guy. A couple guards showed up and they broke it up. They threw them into separate rooms and closed the doors while they waited for back up. Then, a bunch of guards showed up, the two inmates got cuffed and were hauled off.

I didn't get to see anyone get pepper sprayed or anything like that. One dude may have gotten a cut lip or a broken nose or something, he had some blood on his face and shirt.

Pretty exciting. 😀

I got home a little while ago. It was pretty cool, not something you get to see in person every day. 😀
 
spoooon which prison do you work at? About 9 years ago, I worked at a private prison here in downtown Houston. Got to meet some interesting folks as well as get to see my share of fights and S.O.R.T. operations (I did the videotaping for them).

Goree Unit. It's pretty safe since you've got to be on good behavior to be able to participate in the program anyway. The last fight was over 8 months ago.

While the fight itself wasn't that exciting, right at the beginning when all you heard was yelling and you're rushing toward the scene and you didn't know what to expect, that was pretty exciting. Thankfully, no one except the two inmates got hurt.
 
so the guards are making the prisoners fight for entertainment ay....were would bets be placed at said events...are you the bookie hmm soliciting bets are we 😛
