saw a highway patrol car driving VERY erratically

he was tail-gating some car reeeally close, like 5 feet between cars, then the other car started changing lanes to get off the freeway, and the chp car would swerve into the other lane, still following the car, even though he would cut some off to do so. eventually the car being followed got off the freeway thinking he was going to be pulled over for speeding or something, the chp followed, then at the last second got back on the freeway (almost hitting a van in the process), almost getting in the grass between freeway and offramp. then he proceded to weave in and out of traffic like some psycho and he was out of sight.

what can i do when i see something like this? what info do i need on the car, and who do i call about this? it disgusts me knowing that these people hired to "protect us" bully cars on the road for fun.

edited for the spelling nazis out there ;)

cops drive that like, just face it, lol

edit: he could be dui, but most likely not. chp officers are trained to drive like that.

You just need the car's unit number (it's painted on the trunk/bumper for most departments, not sure for the CHP) - and call 911 just like you would for any other asshat in a car.

HPs here have their badge # on their license plates (i.e. HP 355). Just call that in if it's there, otherwise there should be a unit number on the front and/or rear sides, windshield, or rear end.

the guy being chased was probably eating a donut and finished it at the last second so the officer broke off the chase

if you saw it yourself it would look like bullying, it looked like he was scaring some random car into thinking he was getting pulled over, then swerve back on the freeway (i assume for the next victim.)

Honestly man... I'm not going to have to post the picture? Try to add a .com on to that banned word.

the SAFEST thing to do is stay out of the way, i think the best thing to do is report him, i can't turn a blind eye to this stuff. they are police; paid to protect us, not use their power to get their rocks off.

Then get the car number and call your local precinct and report what you saw. That is painfully obvious. What is even more painful is that you couldn't figure that out for yourself.

Posting it here is more or less asking for a stereotypical police thread flamefest.
