I was surprised at how cheap the base model is. Usually when you get into specialty computers like this the price is just insane.

For a custom case with near top of the line components from a boutique computer store? Yeah I'd say that's relatively cheap tbh. Is it worth that much? In terms of hardware probably not but you get the support, they do all the testing, and that is one nice case.
i see youre in san jose. did microcenter really close and if so do you know where and when they are going to reopen?
The base model is a GT 640 with a i5-3450 for $1,500.
If you want a GTX 670 and an i7-3770k, actual "near top of the line" components, its over $2,000.
