Saw a dude hauling a cross across campus today....and yesterday as well

Its wierd...at first I thought it was a prop for some sort of play the theatre department was putting on...but today, I noticed that he had written on the side: "Jesus loves you." Apparently, this fellow, a man in his 40s, feels that by hauling a cross, Jesus style, with a wheel at the bottom I might add, that he can convert some wayward students back onto the path of Jesus-lovin'.

How do you do the "rolling eyes" emoticon?

Ha! Anybody ever read The Prince of Tides (not the crappy movie...the book is amazing)? There's a character in the book who does that...

Anyways, I'm used to stuff like that in New Orleans. Every night on Bourbon Street, there's a group of guys, one holding up a 12 foot cross and several others passing out Christian propaganda. The outside of the fliers is printed to look like a $5 bill, so when the drunks see one on the ground, they pick it up. They really get in the way when the streets crowded, considering they stand right smack dab in the middle of the street.

I think he just walks around campus. I saw him walking up 21st towards the drag the first day and the second day he was walking down speedway towards jester...its good for a chuckle.

Every time I go to Austin I see something new. Last time it was at the whataburger. A guy driving a van with crosses and jesus loves you painted on the side came in a started to preach to the whole restaurant. I think I'll just stick with college station. He could have a disorder, or he could be just trying to help some people. I don't care what religion you believe in, all religions have good messages.

another thing is, this makes me think that Jesus could have been a little off the rocker. how do we know that he wasnt crazy, and just had crazy followers, who through their oppressive methods convinced people that jesus did wonderful things?

thats why i believe huge organized religion is a cult. i dont follow ANY religion to the T. i have my own beliefs composed of GOOD morals and ideas from all religions, but i would consider myself a hindu for legal purposes.

i dont LIKE going to temple, i dont LIKE going to church, i dont LIKE going to any place of worship, mainly because i think god is everywhere, especially the poor.
