Saw a Bald Eagle the other day by the side of the road!

It was in a tree just checking things out. I slowed down for a good look, what a beauty!

Mid-Michigan.

The first time I've seen one outside of Alaska. I remember seeing literally dozens of them off the spit near Homer. There are < 500 in Michigan.

!

You ought to see them in Central Fl, seems every second cypress and interstae lampost has a nest...more than 88 confirmed repeat breeding pairs in my county alone-smallest in the union. So many that I actually hit and killed one with a industrial fridge sittin in back of my truck...went back and got feathers. I know, not supposed to posses, but what would YOU do?

There was one that was fishing in a lake near my house once, he stayed around for about a week and then vanished. My neighbors have some pictures that they took of him and I saw him myself a number of times. I never thought I would see one in Mississippi, I wonder if someone had it as an illegal pet and it escaped 😕

I have seen quite a few on the west side of Michigan. It is cool to see them. The place where I have seen the most Eagles is in eastern Iowa. I once took a photo of around 20 in one tree! I think they like the Mississippi river valley.

People would probably shoot them...

i don't think that means they'll be legal to shoot. i don't think it works that way

I recall seeing one of those at Delaware Water Gap National Park...

Well, at least it looked like a bald eagle from 500 meters away.
