Tax Deductions (if you qualify)
Ever had to return an item? Some retailers like Costco will take anything back within a year.
Proof of purchase for Warranty Reasons?
Proof you owned something in case a nice class action lawsuit comes in place (ex: my wife was part of a small prescription drug thing, we had to prove we bought the meds.)

Well, in washington State where i live, you can go to Washington State Website, register a business online for about $15 bucks. For specifics on what is deductible items, go see a tax attorney / rep. Businesses can write off lots of expenses.

BTW, you have to be a registered business to get these benefits.

I used to keep most of my receipts(groceries, clothes, electronics etc) for keeping track on my spending .. but now I just keep anything that comes with warranty or value more than $50 per item.

i keep my credit card receipts, cause my mom bitches about it if i dont have one when the bill comes. I dont think they will ever come thru incorrect, but you never know..to return things a lot of places need them as well..and since i charge most things, i end up keeping most receipts

Try using a money manager, ex: Quicken, M$ Money.

It's great for reconciling all your statements once a month to make sure your receipts match up with what the credit card company shows.

More than once, i've disputed a charge because the 2 did not match up.
