possible at all? how can one save a streaming real audio file to disk?

Right Click on Internet Explorer >Click Properties >Click on settings under the Temporary Internet Files >Then click View files

The clips are saved there.

Use a recording program like Messer to record while you play the stream. Your sound card has to support recording from it's own output, however.
