saving pictures with win xp and ie6

i recently just installed win xp pro and ie6

Now when i right click to save a picture, almost all the time the default option is to save as a bmp file even though i know it's a jpg file. As a matter of fact, there is no way to save it as a jpg file.

How can i change this? Is it something the webpage is doing to not allow people to save the pictures?

Ok, i just confirmed that this DOESn't happen in win 98 with IE5.5

So how do i turn this off in ie6?

I think I remember this being a cache issue. Try clearing your Temporary Internet Files folder, then restarting your browser.
