Saving outlook messages using Messagesave

I am archiving tens of thousands of emails for a single user who wants to keep practically everything.
His outlook is quite slow, and I think it has to do with the size of his mailbox.
I planned on using Messagesave to do the work.
Any other suggestions before I proceed?
