Saving in MS Internet Explorer

I'm having problems saving on internet explorer. I'm running WinXP SP1 and IE 6. I don't have problems with saving things that are linked directly. I can just right click on the link and choose "save as..." and a window will pop up prompting what to do. What the problem is, if I have to click on a link and the browser will direct me to another site, and from that site, it will automatically start the download. When this automatic download starts, it saves the file to a "temporary folder." After the download is finished, the file is nowhere to be found. Can anyone help? I can't find the temporary folder on my drive either.

Thanks.

Under Win2k, The temporary folder is in C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\
Inside The folder "Local Settings" You'll see "Temporary" and "Temporary Internet files"

I don't think the system structure for WinXP is that much different from Win2k, so you can try that. Also enable "show hidden files and folders" in your folder option to view hidden folders. Local Settings is a hidden folder.

If you still can't find it, just the search program with "show hidden files and folders" enabled.

Hope this helps
