Under 6.2 when saving a file it does not give me the choice as to what type of file i want to save it as. it simply selects all files instead of gifs or jpegs. Any idea what i can do aside from using 4.79 or IE??

It will save it as the correct filetype, unless you rename it. You'll have to add the extension to the filename if you rename it.

Thank you very much for your help. I asked Netscape and they told me to delete all this sttuff and then said it was plugin stuff. Youd think theyd be happy to help those that want to use their product instead of IE.

Yes some elements of the UI in Mozilla/NS 6.x are not ideal. It's gotten a lot better in recent builds, and Mozilla is clearly close to the 1.0 milestone.

Unless you have a specific reason to use NS 6.2, you're better off trying Mozilla 0.9.8 :)

Nosferatu,

Netscape 6.x is basically a stale old Mozilla build + commercial AOL crap.

Mozilla 0.9.8 is easily months newer (and better) than NS 6.2. One must-have feature that hasn't gotten into Netscape 6.x yet is tabbed browsing; not everyone needs it, but the ones that do couldn't live without it (at least I wouldn't want to).

But since NS is based on Mozilla, the GUI is basically the same. When you install Mozilla, I believe it picks up all your existing NS plugins. Both *should* coexist on your system at the same time. I don't believe they can seamlessly share the same profile though.

I think in short, the answer to your question is "not hard at all".
