Saving favorites, OE mail & cookies from W98 to W2K

I used to save these files on my W98SE installation then copy/paste them back in but I dont see these same files so how can I migrate these files or settings to my W2KPro?

My W2K is already setup. I origonally upgraded and they went across, then I had a problem and went back to "last good system" which doesn't have them.

I need a good W2K Pro book to read or for reference but dont have it yet.

As well, any way to get rid of the password request on bootup?

One more dumb one, I can access my W98SE computer from the W2K across my network but not vice versa, it asks for a password which I dont know as the bootup password doesn't work.

Whew! All my dumb questions out.

You need to create an account for the Win9x machine to connect with. Someone will chime in here and tell you to enable the guest account, but don't do it. It's a big security hole, especially if you're connected to the internet through DSL or Cable.

Are you saying you can't see these on the Win98 machine??? If so look in these directories:
\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{***This could be anything***}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Missed this one first time out. Do you get this password before you start up Windows??? If so you'll need to switch it off in the BIOS.

The password is for starting W2K and was set by myself on installation. Not a big deal but I assume its an administrator password.

W98SE is gone from this machine, the files for favorites etc were transferred across on the upgrade to W2K but I now have a paging file error and have gone back to last stable system which doesn't have the settings. I can get them from my W98se machine but where do they go in W2K?

I only have a dialup isp. I'll try setting up an acct for the w98se machine.

Yes, that's what it is. Are you saying you always want to logon to a certain account??? If so use autologon in TweakUI.

Copy them to a directory accessible from the W2K machine. Then open OE and import them. I can't really walk you though it because i haven't got any machines here that have OE set up. It's pretty self explanatory though. I believe the import option is in the first menu choice, called File if my memory serves me correctly.

No not an ISP account. This may explain better.
