Saving Email & Address?

What's the simplest way to backup email and addresses for Outlook and Outlook express?

THANKS

Address Book is exportable. That can then be imported, ergo - it is a backup.

Email can be placed most anywhere. You can create a folder or box to hold copies. They can be placed on an external drive if desired. They are in a database format, and that can be duplicated easily in another location by normal file management.

The key is to know where these things are in your system.

I usually do this:

File -> Import and Export... -> Export to a file -> Personal Folders File

And then follow the on-screen instructions.

I'm talking about doing this one time when someones harddrive is about to fail and backing it up before it does.

I know this can all be exported and imported, it's just that I have never personally messed with it.

So with this in mind, what is the best way to save addresses and email?

Please tell me the actual steps, like Garth mentioned, if that is the way in which to do it, for saving email, then saving the addresses.

THANKS

Are you looking for hand holding? Export the data in Outlook/Outlook Express, then copy those files to other media, then import them when you are finished doing what you are doing... 😕

tfinch2, I don't need my hand held, I don't use Outlook, or Outlook Express, so I was just asking for what steps to take is all.

I run Linux more then Windows, so I don't know these clients that well, that's all. 😉

I just needed to know the steps so when I need to perform the backups I'll be ready. For the moment I don't have access to Outlook or Express to play with them, if I did I wouldn't of asked.

ALOHA

Open Outlook Express, click on FILE, then EXPORT. Just do what it says after that. You control where it is exported to. You can even burn it to a CDR, then later with a different system, File, then Import.
