Saving Desktop Icon Placement?

is there a way or a tool to save the ways my windows desktop icons are placed and organized?

I alternate between my laptop screen 1400x1050 and my Monitor 1600x1200, and the icons placement get screwed up everytime I do the switch...

this is in the wrong forum... but try

right click the desktop and arrange icons then auto arrange.

havent tried it, but that is the first thingi thought of.
