Found a guy that needs a little help.

Im not sure why/how but he needs a bios for a GF4 Ti4600 & is asking for someone to email him a bios image of theier card.

Im willing to help, but Im unsure of EXACTLY how to SAFELY save an image of my GF4 Ti4600's bios.

I searched the Geforce FAQ & found & downloade a program called SaveBios, but when I unzip it, all I get is a file called savBios.com.

No instructions at all.

So Im asking...
How do I do this?
Is it safe? (I dont wanna risk crashing a $400.00 card!)

Im assuming I execute this in dos, and I have dos bootdisks I use to flash my mobo bios when needed.
But I have no idea how to save an image of my videocard bios without actually flashing its bios, which I DO NOT want to do.

I have no idea if it is safe, but, a *.com file is an excecutable command dos file, so yes, you need to run this from dos. It is most likely just going to read the rom chip on the card and copy it back to the floppy as a bin file.

There's a BIOS editor here, the Ray Adams one - under the Open menu, there's a Read BIOS from Memory option. Use that and save that to a file. You'll also need the recent version of nvflash and also dos4gw; put those on a bootable floppy and you should be good to go.
The site has fairly intermittent access though; I can't access it right now.

There's a version of it at Guru3d.com. It's in their BIOS section.
