In general this is a problem that Ive been having apparently for awhile, but Ive only recently noticed it. Possibly you know what is happening. Mainly:
If I save a photo attachment (usually ".jpg") in email without checking it, a large percent of them will not be able to be displayed. Even using a photo editor such as PE that can read all kinds of file formats will say that there is something wrong with the file format & that it cant be read.
So if there is a photo that I really want to save, then I must copy it from email and paste it into a photo editor & then save it to ensure that it is captured.
Do you know what's going on? I suspect that this all started happening when email/ISP providers began allowing photo attachments to be embedded into their HTML.
Post Note:
Well, well. Opening in Notepad the saved jpg attachment that wont display reveals that the file data has been replaced with all kinds of text related to Windows Live & all kinds of URL references. Still, what's supposed to be the philosophy behind all this image file modification?
