Geez I don't think that server could be much slower if it tried.

I think it's worth repeating. What is it that we are supposed to see? It took like 10 min. to get half of one image and I get 2.1Mbs download speed.

The speed of those servers is a realtime demonstration of the rendering capabilities of the BotBoys chip. :)

0.0001 FPS. :D

You guys laugh now, but this card will blow the doors off of a Voodoo 4 and GeForce 2 GTS (and maybe even a Parhelia).

Lol...took so long to download on my 56k I gave up.Now if it takes them about the same time to get the product to the consumer market ,it should be ready about the same time I pick up my pension ;).

Link to one of the pictures...

If you slashdot me the pic will disappear so this link shouldn't be clicked from anywhere but this page.

In the top left hand side of the card is the PCB production date, 7/22/02 looks like. The board is AGP 4x compliant and includes a supplemental power plug. Looks like it could be the real deal people.

Too bad it's gonna be competing with the Radeon 9700 and NV30... ;)

from hardocp:
You see blurry photos, you about him, people report it running through the woods, but until today was there hard evidence that BitBoys is actually doing something "productive".

See for yourself. There is little or no information about the pictures and an owner has not yet stepped up either. I am sure glad they have time to put little lighted signs on the cards though.

Thanks to Ken Hammond for the pics.

Actually.. I think it looks more like 22.02.2002 not 22.07.2002 . Look a bit closer and see what you think.

The true sceptics amongst us, have to add that what we are seeing is a fully populated PCB. It doesn't appear to be operating at the time that the photo was taken, so there is no convincing evidence that this is anything other than a 'mechanical sample'.

I'm very interested in the E-tec business - in particular, there appears to be loads of blue foam underneath this large white area, and the thermal contact area is not flush with the white label - could this E-tec label be covering a powerful TEC (Thermo-Electric [Peltier] Cooler). The fat tracks running to the chip would support this (I'm not quite sure what the components to the top-left of the chip are, they certainly look like a power circuit, but don't look like a conventional SMPS - so it's unlikely they are voltage regulators for the chip - maybe they're a TEC controller.

Also, what's with the 143 MHz DRAMs? 1.06 GiB/s - certainly not a ground-breaking RAM bandwidth.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well... Looks like it will be a stunning success in the sub-$20 market though!

If it's a 2 I can't see the period. I think it's a 7 with a period next to it, make is look like 2 from the angle. Could be wrong. *shrug*

On another picture I think it shows 24.04.2002, version 0.3.

Just a tip: make the image smaller. A smaller file will reduce your overall file transfer bandwdth allowing more traffic.

Bah, I'm not reducing the size, you lose detail with scaled images. I just don't want this stupid picture linked from some news sites home page if you get my drift. My upload is only 384 so if it saturates for a while I don't care but if it DDOS's me the pic will disappear. If you wanna mirror it take the image, I took it without permission but don't link me.

At least one of the picks shows "revision 0.3" or "version 0.3" so (IMHO) they aren't anywhere near having something ready.
