Save forums

Does anyone know of any way to save an entire forum to your hard drive so that you can browse it offline while on a plane or somehwere without internet access? Also, the forum I need to save requres you to be logged in, so how would that work?

uh, i'm not sure if the firefox extension "scrapbook" can do it, but it's a pretty darn cool extension. i've never tried it on forums though. rossman may have a better answer as he's used it more extensively than i.

If you can get the forum software and the database, you can run it locally. Easy to do with PHPBB if you can get the database. Doubtful that the AT crew is going to give you a copy of this database, though.

One of these offline browsers should work.

There may be a https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/">FireFox extension</a> for offline browsing, it's worth a shot.

so i'm guessing scrapbook does not do that?

oh well. it's a great extension nevertheless, and thanks again for recommending it, rossman. 🙂

It's great for individual pages, if you wanted to download an entire forum (or a good chunk) of it then scrapbook isn't the right tool.
