I believe I've read that DVR viewing is reported, as long as it's within an hour of the episode's air time.

It's insane that Chuck is even on the hotseat. Regardless though, it should survive considering Trauma almost definitely won't return next season, and they still need to fill some of the Leno time slots with something other than Law and Order.
