There are currently two dimm slots, but would you be able to just sauter another slot on, or would it be more complicated than that? Is a simple bios update neccessary?

...If you can't spell "solder", I strongly suspect you shouldn't be messing around with your motherboard.

And no, you'd probably need some significant modifications to the BIOS. Assuming, of course, that the chipset supports a third DIMM and those traces are actually connected to something.

Just get yourself a solder-wave machine, or whatever they're called exactly, and you'll be good to go. Oh, you might need to modify the PCB too, so you'll want some CAD software and maybe access to a manufacturing facility.

In other words, no, you can't do it.:)

The board does support Tualatins, and the chipset does support 3 dimm slots. All I would be changing is the socket, and that would be to an identical one.

The dimm slot is a possible addition; assuming it is connected(I had not examined it, I just assumed it was).

BTW, I do have some soldering experience. I have only done it with wires, but I am fairly proficient with a soldering iron.
