DAMASCUS, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Turkey has allowed 350 armed rebels to enter, through its borders, into the northern province of Aleppo to take part in defending a key Syrian border town from the Syrian military offensive, a monitor group reported on Sunday.

Turkey is now acting in direct military opposition to the Syrian government. Attacking Syrian military and Kurd forces to render Aleppo open to terrorist infiltration, from Turkey no less. Syria cannot exist without control over Aleppo. If Russia is to have any saving face, they cannot allow Turkey to operate militarily in Syria.

The two forces are now acting in direct opposition to each other.

If enough stupid people with power keep jerking off all over Syria, Daesh might just get the Armageddon they hoped for.

Tensions between Russia and Turkey reach new peak
“Putin is furious with Turkey” said the European official. “The situation is really incredibly serious.”
Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkish prime minister, accused the YPG on Monday of being “Russia’s instrument in Syria”, threatening further attacks on the Kurdish fighters.

He said that Turkey would attack the Menagh air base north of Aleppo if Syrian Kurds did not withdraw from it and vowed to protect the Syrian border town of Azaz from the Kurdish forces.

Appears Turkey now claims a portion of northern Syria for their own.
Ironically this would not be something that Russia is unfamiliar with,
but given the escalating tensions amidst the vows of force and the military buildup for a ground war....

Syria's a bomb begging to explode into a greater war.

Turkey is seriously playing with fire here. They're got some good military hardware, but I really think they're underestimating the Russians.

Limited Nuclear War Within 18 days as Saudis (and Friends) mass 350,000 troops, 20,000 Tanks, 2,450 Planes, 460 Helicopters for Syria Invasion

Russia will have no choice but to use Tactical (Battlefield) Nuclear Weapons to defend Syria once a ground invasion begins within 18 days, by 350,000 troops, 20,000 Tanks, 2,450 military planes and 460 Helicopters from 25 countries massing in northern Saudi Arabia. Syria has warned "any aggressor entering the country will go home in wooden coffins;" Russia has said "any country sending ground troops into Syria without permission will be considered a declaration of war."

Shit could be about to get real. I don't know much about this news channel, to be frank.

You seriously believe that shit? Really? Because I have a beautiful bridge in New York City that I'd let go real cheap and you seem like a guy who might be interested in a good deal like that.

Do I believe it? No, but I threw it out there for analysis, just in case, ya know. I know people like to talk about tinfoil hat stuff around here. ;)

Next target after Syria will be Iran, they will use the "weapons on mass destruction" excuse to invade them. They went into Iraq with the same excuse, but hey, no evidence of this kind of weapons.

There's a lot of incredible nonsense with that article. It basically takes the military exercises going on in Saudi Arabia and assumes a full-on nuclear war and economic collapse as a result. This war could get out of hand, yes, but this article is clearly written by a bunch of preppers.

It's likely that Turkey will intervene military in the coming weeks on the grounds of that they will not allow the Kurds to establish their own state along their southern border. What's interesting is that, because the Assad regime doesn't recognize the Kurdish state either, it's most likely that given time the Kurds will clash with the Syrian regime on their own without the need for a Turkish intervention. This paints their true motives as highly suspicious given that the Kurds have been very successful at battling ISIS (with the help of Western war planes).

The main problem with all of this is that the Turkish plan to establish a security zone is not recognized by the Syrian government, and that allows Russia the opportunity to engage in return. So far the Russian presence in Syria is actually quite small, but Russia has a significantly larger military budget than Turkey does, and a lot more hardware. While Russia is far from the military superpower that is the United States, they're still very much a first-rate military world power, and that's where it could get real ugly real fast.

The Saudi military is a paper tiger. Not battle tested or competent. They'd fall apart in the face of a real conflict with real casualties.

Turkey's Erdogan: No intent to stop retaliatory shelling against Syrian Kurdish YPG

Retaliation for what? Turkey makes no distinction from one Kurd to another. They consider YPG equals KPP.

Apparently the Syrian military were collateral damage in the first day of attacks on the Kurds, and not a primary target. At least not yet. Turkey is playing this slow and calculating, but with a deliberate and relentless belligerence.

All Turkey is really achieving is helping ISIS in this. Keeping the border open for them.
Still waiting for the promised Syrian invasion...

IMHO, Saudi Arabia is more of threat to America than Syria by a long shot. This bullshit they are doing with oil is trashing the worldwide stock market and threatening to kill off many companies (mine included).

I hope they get into a long bloody war with Syria and are forced to open the oil spigots for money. Syria could end up being good for America if that happens (as long we are smart enough to not get involved).

Who is really killing the Syrians? Who is responsible for the escalation of fighting, for what now needs to happen to subdue Aleppo? Make it difficult to move in and seize the countryside and Russia will just have to continue bombing them to dust. Turkey is responsible for the escalation of violence.

Syrian rebels say reinforcements get free passage via Turkey

  • Syrian rebels have brought at least 2,000 reinforcements through Turkey in the past week
  • "We have been allowed to move everything from light weapons to heavy equipment, mortars and missiles and our tanks,"
  • Turkish army vehicles were offloading the munitions and equipment onto Syrian rebel armoured vehicles and trucks
  • New supplies of ground-to-ground missiles with a range of 20 km (12 miles) had been provided
Everything short of a direct ground invasion of Syria. There are enough fighters, munitions, and advanced weaponry from Turkey to demand the decimation of the Aleppo city and surrounding countryside. When you see humans turned to dust, know who it is that brought the fight to Syria.

What?

In your first paragraph it seems you are condemning Saudi Arabia for producing too much oil thus keeping the price low.

In your second paragraph it seems you want them at war so they are forced to produce even more oil.

That makes no sense.

I'm rather enjoying Saudi oil policies at this time. But if you want to go back to paying $4/gallon at the pump, have at it.

According to my FB wall, WW3 has started and we're all gonna die. Could be, I suppose.
