Saturn Sky pricing announced

GM announced today that the 2007 Saturn Sky will start at $23,690. That price is for a 5-speed manual, while a Sky with a 5-speed auto will set you back $24,540. The press release indicates only that the roadster will be available this spring, so we have no firm date for when it will go on sale.

The price of entry includes four-wheel disc brakes, four-wheel independent suspension with coil-over Bilstein monotube shocks, air conditioning, power everything, and a CD stereo with auxiliary input. A limited-slip diff will also be made available for a price that?s yet to be announced.

For comparison?s sake, the Pontiac Solstice starts at $20,490 and the Mazda MX-5 at $20,995.

why would the saturn cost more than the solstice? same damn car, different sheetmetal, worse badge? why? dose GM want to sell any skys? 21k for a sky with LSD would be great, but instead you'd have to settle for a egg looking solstice or sorta egg looking miata.

a Sky is a beautiful, beautiul car, hell, it's the best looking non exotic roadster out there(except the Lotus Elise) and it's going to be crippled by the saturn name brand and undercut by the identical solstice!

Actually the price is nto that much higher. The Saturn comes with more standard items that you have to pay more for on the pontiac.

That and they are gearing toward different people.

For that price I rather have the new Volvo C70, with the hardtop convertable.

A Volvo C70 costs $15k more. Why would you even compare the two?

Oh it does? I didn't how much it cost. Just assumed it wasn't more than 30K.

But do you know if the Sky is a hardtop. I am guessing no.

You know what they say about assuming.

The Sky is ugly. Looks like an angry little gremlin.

When my lease is up in September, if I can't get another good rate on a GTO, I'm gonna look into a Soltice/Sky...quite the change of pace though.

nothing of the sort. it is based on the lotus elise chassis but with a front rather than mid placed engine.

**BONK** wrong answer

That would be the Vauxhall VX220....good lucking buying that in N.A.

hmm. Should be good then 🙂

Edit: But isnt that what the Pontiac Solstice is?

slostice has a brand new kappa platform or something. Saturn Sky is also Kappa platform and same tranny.

The Vauxhall VX220 is a rebodied Lotus Elise
The Solstice and Sky are both built on the Kappa platform
The Sky's European counterpart is the Vauxhall Lightning (in concept form)
