Maybe this car will pull GM out of a freefalling tailspin into bankruptcy :p.

Saturn is going places nowadays. With the string of failures with the ion and ion redline and basically all other models they;ve ever put out, i like where the company is heading now. They are now making beautiful cars i would actually buy. The Aura and Sky are breathtaking. I'm a Lexus/Toyota guy and it's been a while since GM has had a car I got excited about. Ever since the carmaro went the way of the dodo in 2002, there has been a dearth of options from GM. C6 Corvette? Too expensive. Solstice? Giant angry egg. Pontiac Grand Prix GTP? FWD performance?

Saturn were pretty good little cars back in the 90s, with loyal customers, then GM decided not to update the models. The Saturn Ion and the Vue were mediocre cars. Hopefully GM will recognize that people will pay premium for quality cars, large or small. Rebates or employee pricing plans can only get mediocre cars so far, and lower the perception of your brands.

you do know that a LOT of people LOVED the SL series when they first came out, and they still are pretty solid and reliable today..

i will admit though that i HATED the Ion. although the Vue is a nice vehicle.

As a daily driver, no doubt saturn does fine but as far as excitement and style, i'd say the sli s pretty ugly. So is the vue and Ion. The redemming charactistic of the vue is CVT which admittedly got me somewhat excited when it came out.

Those lights are funny, but it's a nice car otherwise. :)

(P.S. - Whenever I see a GM thread, I know it's yours before looking. ;))

I really like it. Between the Ford Fusion and the Saturn Aura, it looks like the Merikans finally figured out what it takes to compete with Accord and Camry

its a cheap low end car... you didnt know that???

also, the Aura is slated to get a 6 speed auto, and it is possible to get a Malibu manual, jsut not common. and the Malibu/G6/Aura all share platforms so id assume it might be possible

Now only if GM can do something about the Malibu...which screams RENTAL at every angle, inside and out.

That's a shame. It's losing the dubs, but it's getting bling in the dash. Holler! ;)

It's funny that Saturn is GM's bland lineup, but I'd still kind of like the S-series and I definitely like this car.

Malibu Maxx SS gives the car one hell of a nice look on the inside.
