Sattilite modem?

Does anybody here use sattilite modem? How is it? And how is it for games? Is it worth it? Thanks

The only thing I can say is that with sattilite, you do not have to worry about your bandwidth being taken up by other people in the network.

Count on having minimum ping times of 500ms.

You still have to worry about bandwidth, eventually you are going back to a landline--not like sat. beams directly to every site on the internet.

It's the same as DSL, they claim you don't share bandwidth with your neighbor, but, eventually you all get stuck on the same pipe.

And, Sat has very high latency. It takes time for the signal to reach orbit and back, even at the speed of light.

Also, unless you get a newer 2 way model you still have to connect with a regular old modem for uploading.
