Satellite tv in stereo?

I have Directv, and i'm wondering, for everyone is it broadcasted in Stereo? For me its only mono, i live in the NYC area.
 
Try messing with your audio settings. I thought most sat channels are stereo.
Maybe DirecTV is an exception. I only have experience with Free To Air channels.
 
no its with all channels, they all broadcast in mono, and i have to turn my TV way up to hear it. I will buy some rca cable and plug it into the stereo out to test it.
 
Odd. Mine does the same thing...but only one of the receivers. The one upstairs is fine and plays in stereo, the one downstairs is only playing out of one speaker.

I bought an AV cable and its in stereo. Dunno why it wouldnt work for coaxial tho its pretty weird. I guess this is an advantage since the picture looks a lot better. Although i do have to switch to video, but its worth it.
