Satellite Radio

I been looking in to getting satelliet radio for a while now. I'm not really sure if I should go with Sirius or XM. I know XM has more programming but Sirius have and nice NFL package which is a big plus cause I'm a football nut. I was wondering if anyone here has used either one?

It's all about the programming you would prefer. They both are amazing and both have commercial free music channels.
I personally have XM and recommend it, but Sirius is good to. Just study the programming and decide which you want most.

just bought an 04 Chevy with XM. i don't have experience with Sirius... my wife made an observant remark - she said the music's OK but she hadn't heard anything she has recognized. Since they play 24/7 music that they have to have a huge library.

I have Sirius and love it. I haven't listened to the radio in over a year. I've even taken off my antenna.

Check out siriusorxm.com

thanks alot, that site was very helpful. I think I'm going to go with Sirius

Here's the deal. I put many hours of research into this exact matter, and I can tell you what's up.

Sirius (the one I chose):

- Sports programming kicks the living sh!t out of XM if you're concerned about that at all
- Tends to have more repeats
- Caters more towards popular music; hits and pseudo-hits.

XM:

- Sports programming is virtually non-existent (at least this was the case about 6 months ago).
- Tends to play "deeper" tracks; sometimes rather obscure songs from popular artists that you will never have heard before.

They're both excellent, and I only chose Sirius for the most minor of details. I figured I'd listen to sports every now and then, I had my eye on a cool Sirius-ready deck and I like the dog.

EDIT: oh, and because I love their 80's channel.

XM now carries more sports now, they added like 8 College football stations if your into that
XM also has weather & traffic for 21 major US cities which is awsome

Sirius has traffic and weather as well. I'm not sure of the amount of cities, since I don't listen to it much...I think they have maybe a dozen or so. I'm not about to get into a flame war here.

Either way, whichever service you get, I'm sure you'll be pleased with. Both are much better than radio. Although, I am glad to hear you are leaning more towards Sirius. 🙂

You can check out siriusbackstage.com for a great user forum. Enjoy!
