<< Satellite is supposed have horrendous lag. Get it only if you cannot get cable.:D >>

Eh, just like a second delay while relaying to channel (regular TV people get it a second ahead) otherwise, that's it.

The cool thing about digital is that you get the nice digital sound too! And if you have a 5.1 setup, you can actually get a source of surround sound :) quite spiffy - I was mighty impressed w/ the output that my DirecTV setup gave me - both visually and sound-ish-ick-ly (?) <|~ What is the sound equivalent of visually?!

Any satellite will beat digicable in pic qual (espically via s-video) and sound :)

I would never go back to cable after having DirecTV :)

thanks for this thread...i was about to ask the same thing...

i have this choice:

1. get directv right now for $31.99/month with free dish and free installation and keep my $5 AT&T dial-up...total cost per month: $36.99

or

2. wait for cablemodem service in my area and pay $45.99 and "steal" cabletv...total cost per month: $45.99

i'm leaning towards option 1 which is cheaper and legit, but cablemodem is really enticing with its blazing speeds...:p

thanks,

I'm on dsl for internet now (no cable), and just put together a home theatre.

have regular cable and it really sucks in broken arrow, (tulsa area).

So I'm looking at digital cable or direct tv or perhaps dish network. It is a bit confusing as everyone has their add on fees so its hard to find what total cost will be.
