I just bought a Satellite M35x-161 Notebook with Centrino chip. The internal fan Turns off and on many times while working with it. Every 5 minutes in turns on and then about 4 0r five min it turns itself off. Is this normal for the centrino chip to have a fan act like this? Everything else works fine. Just the fan going on and off.

Hi, The fan is controlled by a circuit on the MB that senses the temp and changes the fan speed to keep the temp constant. Some systems just turn the fan off and on. Jim
