satellite l25-1216 cpu temperature

anyone else who bought the l25 from best buy 2 weeks ago see anything unusual with their temperature? mine reads as high as 55c and then 47c after a quick restart. what the duce? it's a 1.6ghz celeron m btw and i just came upon this problem about 15 minutes ago when i notice the fan was on longer than it's usual on/off routine. i never checked the temperature of this thing until now. also, i ran spyware and antivirus. i tried a search but the thing seems to be broken.

edit: is the fan even suppose to be off and going on from time to time only when the cpu temp goes too high?

That's normal for a Celeron M cpu without speedstep in a laptop with crappy cooling. Celeron M's run always @ fullspeed and voltage. I took mine apart and removed the 1/2" thick cheapie compound and replaced with AS5. Dropped by about 1c to 53-54C. I finally dropped in a Pentium M 1.6 pinmodded to 2.13. Even overclocked my idle temps dropped to 42-45C. Fan hardly comes on now. Battery life also increased from 1:15 to about 2:15 .

Did you OC it to 2.13, if not, you should. Its frieken awesome
