Oval vs. round dishes have nothing to do with internet via satellite (and the round dish actually gets better reception because we only have to "tune" it to one satellite not 2 or 3 where we have to balance the signals out

).
Anyway, there is really only 2 options for satellite internet, Starband (dishnetworks version) and DirecWay (DirecTVs version). I don't install Starband so I have no comment on it.
Direcway has an average bandwith of 700-900 down/20-40 up, the problem is lag (750 ms or so). Also, right now, Direcway uses a "special" software program installed on the computer to make it run. This will soon change with the introduction of the DW6000 (current is the DW4000). The DW6000 uses an ethernet interface and can be easily routed out and also eliminates a lot of other problems (software on the computer, initial dial-up problems (registration) and other stuff) the DW4000 uses a USB interface and only can be shared using a proxy type software. The problem: the DW6000s release date could be as late as January of next year (or as early as September 23rd).
That being said, have fun
