Satellite Internet Info

Hi,
I need so me info on Direcway Satellite, I can't get any broad ban and I see the price has come down to were it would be the same price as my phone lines and ISP (2 each)

I would like some input from some people that are running Direcway and if they like it

I know that it's not the fastest @ 400kbps max down and 128kbps up but we only have 42.2kbps now and Cable or DSL won't be here any time soon

As long as no one in the family is a gamer or needs low latency, I think it should suffice. Anyway the satellite would definitely be faster than your 56k that you're on right now

If you can't have either cable or DSL, go for it. I set one up for someone, and the speed was great!

we play a lot of games but not on line (we have LAN Wars)
and any latency must be better that my 42.2kbps hookup now

Is this the same system that cost $600 to start and $60 a month for service? I looked at this on Directv's website the other day.

Have you seen it cheaper? This is not affordable to me and I only connect at 26400bps

I think it's what you were looking at they have a $99 a month with $99 down for a year then $59.99 a month
but I pay for 2 phone lines and 2 ISPs for about the same
and I'm on line about 18 hours a day
