Satellite A70 help!

I've got a Toshiba Satellite A70 here that won't turn on.

I checked the power connector, and redid the solders. This seems to be a common problem with this model. The voltmeter says everything is getting power.

Anyone have any idea's? There are no lights that turn on when it's plugged in. Also nothing happens when I hit the power button.
 
Anyone have any idea's.

If I can't salvage it, could i use the screen for anything? DVD player for the car?
