SATA2 - SATA

I'm looking at a new motherboard and it's SATA2. My question is will I be able to use a SATA(1) drive with it? If so will there be any disadvantages to using SATA instead of SATA2?

the short answer - you will have no disadvantage of using sata on a "sata2" connection, it is backward compatible
