Some ssds are marketing themselves as "optimized" for sata3.
Do the drives perform better under sata3 or is any performance gain because of sata3?

If you connect a sata 2,.0 in 3.0 its backward compabilty thats it,,,,,,, it will perform at its spec speeds. If you buy a new sata 3.0 then that 260mbps will be 500mbps.. gl gg

There is some performance degradation with sata2 v sata3, even in non-bandwidth limiting situations. It's minimal, you won't notice it apart from benchmarks, but its there.

When I get a new RIG, The SATA 3.0 port will give me twice the speed from 260mbps seq to close to 480mbps... Its still blazing fast also with a 512k cluster size ,,,,,,

Can anyone confirm if theres performance diff with 512k to 4096kb .. ?
